What is Referencing

Referencing is a practice of acknowledging other peoples works, ideas, sources used in a paper, assignment, report and conference papers in academic writing.

EndNote

EndNote is a package for creating and storing a library of references (citations plus abstracts, notes etc) which can then be used in conjunction with the typing of Word documents and creation of bibliographies.

Things to Remember about EndNote:

You need to download EndNote to your pc.

EndNote does not replace the style manual. It makes it easier to follow the manual, but you will still need the manual.

Back up your EndNote Libraries.

RefWorks

RefWorks -- an online research management, writing and collaboration tool -- is designed to help researchers easily gather, manage, store and share all types of information, as well as generate citations and bibliographies. You can access RefWorks from the Library website. Electronic Resources. Databases A-Z. Choose RefWorks.

Turnitin

Turnit in is an internet based tool used to check and detect plagiarism in an essay or any kind of academic related document. Its a licensed based software which universities and school obtain through subscription.
