Medical databases

What is a database?

Databases contain references to journal articles from multiple journals, chapters in books and in some cases, theses and dissertations. Some databases also include the full text of the articles and other items. Access to these databases is paid for by the Library. The Library provides access to a wide range of databases.  Important note:  databases are either discipline specific or multidisciplinary.  It is important for you as the researcher to establish which databases best suit your field of study.

Search a database when you do not know in which journals articles appear.

From the UKZN Library website, go to the Electronic Resoruces tab for an alphabetical list of databases as well as a list of databses by discipline.
