What is referencing?

Referencing is a practice of acknowledging other peoples works, ideas, sources used in a paper, assignment, report and conference papers in academic writing. Direct quotations, facts and figures, tables and images, from published as well as unpublished works need to be referenced, as do ideas and theories that originate elsewhere

EndNote

UKZN subscribes to the desktop version of the bibliographic management package called EndNote. This programme allows you to create a library, manage and use a library of references in a variety of ways in a variety of styles. The libarary can be used to add citations to Word documents and create formatted bibliographies.
