Forensic Medicine: Journals

A journal is a scholarly publication containing articles written by researchers, academics and other experts. Journals focus on a specific discipline or field of study.

Journals are available in print and online format.

Many journals are not freely available online via Google, the Library pays for access.

• From the Library website click on iLink catalogue.
• Type in the title of the journal and click on the blue journal tab.
• Identify the relevant library and section of library where the journal is kept..
• Find the journal in the relevant section of the library.
• Print jorunals may be borrowed for a few days.

 Open Access

• From the 'Electronic resources' page option on the Library Website click on 'e-Journals A-Z'.

• Type in the title of the journal.

• If the journal is available online, access details will be provided showing where the journal appears and the time coverage.

Google Scholar is a subset of Google and is an international index to scholarly literature - articles, books, documents, theses etc. They are not automatically available online full text. If UKZN Library subscribes to a journal, click on the article title and you will be taken to the journal in order to access full text.

An index to South African journals as well as some full text access is available via the database collection Sabinet.
