Psychiatry: Databases

Psychiatry

Why use databases?

Much academic literature is not freely available via search facilities such as Google. Libraries pay for access.

Google Scholar is a subset of Google, indexing all scholarly literature in the public domain. If UKZN subscribes to an item, clicking on the article title will lead you to the full text.

Off campus access

It is necessary to login with your UKZN login details to access online resources from off campus.

What is a database?

Databases contain references to journal articles from multiple journals, chapters in books and in some cases, theses and dissertations. Some databases also include the full text of the articles and other items.

Some databases are subject specific, others are multidisciplinary. These are accessible from the Library's website under the option 'e resources'.
