UKZN has an online module on Understanding Plagiarism. This is a self-paced course and a certificate is available at the end. This course now includes a "Generic guide on ethical use of Artificial Intelligence in Learning and Research".
UKZN is currently developing a policy on the use of AI.
The Grammarly software has a plagiarism detection function for AI usage.
UKZN uses Turnitin as its offical software for detecting matches which may or may not reveal plagiarism. Students no longer register with TII using an enrolment key and class ID supplied by a lecturer or supervisor. Students must be added to a class on TII by the lecturer/supervisor, and students will receive an email. Only a UKZN email address can be used with TII.
