Why do I need a My Library Account?

To view what books you have borrowed and their return dates

To renew books on loan

To create intercampus and interlibrary loan requests for books and articles not available on your home campus or not available at UKZN (EXCLUDING EBOOKS).

You can create requests online remotely via your My Library Account.

Step by Step guide to requesting via ILL
Inter-Library Loans: UKZN libraries provides an ILL request portal/service which will appear defaulted at the end of a search when UKZN libraries does not have the item being searched for. The request will be processed routed through your MY Library Account.

Pay Per View (PPV)

When UKZN library cannot provide an article and it is not available via the interlibrary loan system, articles may be purchased by the Library on behalf of the user. This facility is available to postgraduates and staff of UKZN. This facility only applies after an inter-library request has been sent. You initially require to create your My Library Account to request an article that you cannot locate - via the iCatalogue prompt or via your My Library Account (InterLibrary-Loans) create request feature.
