Impact of employee participation in decision making at Engen.
Employee participation is the process whereby employees are involved in decision making processes, rather than simply acting on orders. Employee participation is part of a process of empowerment in the workplace. It is important for employees to participate effectively in decision making, and strengthen their level of influence to all existing structures. The main aim of the study was to ascertain the impact of participation in decision making at Engen and whether employees are satisfied with their current participation in the organization. The study used non-probability sampling and the sample comprised of one hundred respondents who are employees at Engen in Durban office, KwaZulu-Natal. This office was selected because it was convenient for the researcher and respondents were easily available and accessible. Of the sample, 34.2% of respondents are Sales staff and a total of 28.9% of respondents worked for 0-5 years for the company and 23.7% have worked for 6-10 years. The results of
Restorative approaches to criminal justice : an exploratory study in KwaZulu-Natal.
Restorative justice, a social movement seeking to introduce reform in the operation of the traditional criminal justice system, has seen a marked proliferation of its initiatives over the last decade in countries like Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. Restorative processes are those in which offenders, victims and/or others affected by a crime participate often with the help of a facilitator, in the resolution of matters arising from that crime. Prevailing literature indicates that the intellectual heritage of restorative justice is diverse and rooted in a myriad of theories, beliefs, values and customs. Restorative justice is also used to describe a bewildering range of practices and programmes. While restorative justice draws on existing traditional, indigenous and religious beliefs in dealing with disputes, effective restorative justice practices depend on a well functioning and credible criminal justice system. Assessment of causes of the failure of Gikongoro Agricultural Development Project.
The Gikongoro Agricultural Development Project (GADP) was implemented in Gikongoro in 1990 and terminated in 2001. It covered 83,508 ha with 250,000 habitants and had a target group of 42,000 farm families, with an estimated total budget of U$ 31.2 million. Its objectives focused on land development, increase of farm crops, environmental conservation and protection, stores and roads construction and bank loans for small farmers. Its expected impacts included the increase of incomes, enhancement of nutritional status and the resolution of the employment problem. The project was closed without achieving these goals. The clean development mechanism : a comparison between South Africa and China.
The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) is the only mechanism available for use by developing nations. It is there for highly important for the inclusion of these developing nations in the climate change regime. A consideration on the early implementation of the CDM in South Africa and China, being two countries with many similarities and differences and vastly different successes, provides important lessons on how to approach the climate change regime. Certain barriers exist purely due to the nature of countries in which the CDM applies as well as other barriers found within the CDM project life cycle and development. Through the comparison these barriers are explored and areas for development within South Africa are noted as well as weakness with the current climate change regime particularly the Kyoto Protocol.

Now, worldwide, institutions are digitising their collections putting pdf copies into the public arena.
