Index Mundi - set up by the US Dept of Agriculture, IndexMundi is a data portal that gathers facts and statistics from multiple sources (mainly commodities and export data and country data) and turns them into easy to use visuals. The mission is to turn raw data from all over the world into useful information for a global audience. They capture statistics that are scattered or otherwise hidden and present them via user-friendly maps, charts, and tables which allow visitors to understand complex information at a glance. StatsSA - Agricultural statistics and census
Much useful information about South Africa is available from government. The South African government website provides access to a wide range of publications post 1994 such as acts and bills, white papers, statistical information (click on the 'Documents' option on the toolbar) and government departments, national and provincial (choose from the left hand side options). The South African yearbook is also available full text under the 'About SA' option on the toolbar.
