UKZN online library training 2025: EndNote

These zoom sessions will focus on training postgraduates and undergraduates in the use of library resources as well as referencing and Endnote.

Endnote 20 and 21 (Guides and Notes)

There are lots of youtubes out there for Endnote 21 and Google is a good place to ask questions. The official Endnote site is endnote.com    Some of the EndNote Trainings on YouTube

How to download EndNote 21

  • Use either the Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome browser
  • Close all your Microsoft programmes
  • Type in this address  https://softwarerep.ukzn.ac.za/ into the URL box on the UKZN website  (found on the UKZN Computer Services ICS page https://ics.ukzn.ac.za  Choose Software Repository)  
  • Click on Academic Software, then choose EndNote, then click on Endnote 21 - windows and mac to install (for Windows)
  • From the next screen choose EN21Inst.msi for windows users
  • If you are asked to enter a product key, enter the information found at the link  
  • Follow the installation steps
  • When the software is installed you will then be asked to save the library which is called My Endnote Library.enl
  • At the same time a My Endnote Library.data file will be created. This is the background file for the library

You can also access the software library via the ICS website.

From the UKZN home page choose SUPPORT SERVICES from the top toolbar; scroll down and find Information and Communication Services Division (ICS). On their home page scroll down and bottom right is a link to the software repository.
