E books
Most text books are currently not available electronically but a few are. The iCatalogue will provide the URL where online access is available.
UKZN Library offers an Interlibrary loan (ILL) facility through which books can be borrowed from other libraries in the country if available. Most times there is no charge for borrowing a book. Copies of journal articles may also be requested and if it cannot be scanned and emailed there is a fee for this. This service is for 3rd year and post graduate students and staff members.
There is an ILL office in each library. Forms are available for filling in or email the relevant ILL office. There will be a migration from the Sabinet ReQuest programme to WMS Interlibrary early in 2018. This means that all requests will close by the end of December 2017. There will also be a distinction between interlibrary loan and inter-campus laons. Interlibrary loans will refer to requests that we receive from external libraries and will be supplioed by a team on each campus site. Inter-campus loans refers to laons between UKZN libraries. These items will now be issued out to the students and staff card.
