Most institutions require a copy of every thesis to be lodged with its library. Thus UKZN keeps a copy of every masters and PhD thesis done through UKZN. Increasingly theses are being digitised so they are more accessible. This is an ongoing project at UKZN and theses back to the late 1990's ahve been digitised.
Every thesis is listed in the iLink catalogue with the URL link if a digital copy is available.
All digital theses are also accessible from the tab at the top of the Library's webpage called ResearchSpace.
There is no single international index to theses, a visit to individual institutional sites or a search of Google and Google Scholar will indicate theses. Not all are available full text. Databases such as Proquest, have a thesis index which usually provide the first 24 pages full text.
